Yoga Life

Pippa Moss

Do you know how to rest deeply? The kind of rest you get when your body is in a relaxed state, but your mind is still awake? A deep release, a sense of coming home and a feeling of complete peace. It's called 'non sleep deep rest', or yoga nidra. It works by slowing down the brain waves, like what happens during delta-wave, or deep sleep. NSDR activates of the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), and reduces the sympathetic nervous system response (fight or flight). After a period of stress your parasympathetic system is designed to bring you back to state of homeostasis. The trouble is, many of us don't get a chance to step away from stressful situations and find balance again. Having a period of forced rest is a chance to change that. If you have been looking for an opportunity to step away from your daily routine, chores and responsibilities, gain clarity and inner space; this is it. Join us on retreat in France this May for daily guided yoga nidra sessions as well as plenty of opportunities for rest. #yogaretreat #yogapractice #restorativeyoga #nsdr #yoganidra #deeprest #yogaretreatfrance #nervoussystemregulation
