Today in the Mandala Kids class, at the Volunteer Festival held in Quinta da Carreira Urban Park, the children had the opportunity to practice yoga outdoors and learn a little more about what it means to be a volunteer. We talked about the importance of offering acts of love to one another and "giving" without expecting anything in return. It is scientifically proven that helping others benefits our health and well-being, while promoting emotional balance. Volunteering can increase life expectancy, and according to a study, people who practice it live, on average, four years longer than those who do not.
