Yoga Life

Savasana means "dead body posture" in Sanskrit, ancient Indian language. It is one of the most important postures in Yoga especially since staying still is one of the most challenging issues in our constantly-moving world. Also, yoga isn't about jumping around. Yoga is a philosophy and a way of life. In Patanjali's yoga sutras, an Indian ancient text on the theory and practice of yoga, it is defined as the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind, the ultimate goal being meditation. All asanas (physical poses) are meant to make us strong enough to handle sitting in meditative poses for a long time. Meditating would then lead us to a balanced and calm state of mind and allow us to connect our body, mind and soul.
