My voice is my ally, my rawest, most sacred instrument for expression. One that I can access, as long as I stay open and present, vulnerable yet grounded and free of fear. Making my own shamanic drum - a support in elevating the voice, the heart and throat chakra - reminded me of this. Its sound brings deep healing, it liberates the voice and - on a deeper level all that’s been suppressed along with it. Every step of this process made me realize how sacred this instrument is and how much energy and time flows into making it. How pine tree and goats were sacrificed for it to come into existence and how strength and mental capacity were required in order for it to be crafted with precision. I came back here to @quintasaojosedosmontes for this experience because the place is really special to me. Gifted to me for my birthday by the dearest women in my life, this drum is a representation of friendship, feminine force and an encouragement to continue using my voice for healing. I’m grateful for every single one of them for supporting me on this path!
